Customizing and Creating Quests

Customize a Quest

Customize the content of any quest to meet the needs of your students. First, you must add a copy of the quest to My Library before you are able to customize it. You can begin immediately editing the quest as soon as it is added to My Library, or you can find the quest later in My Library following these steps: 

1. Click “My Library” located in the top right corner of any Quest Forward page.

2. Click “Quests” to the left of the search bar in the top left corner.

3. Search for the quest by title or keyword. 

4. Open the quest by clicking anywhere in the tile for that quest. 

5. Click  “Customize” in the top right corner. 

You can now edit the following:

1. Quest Overview- Click the information underlined in yellow at the top of the page to edit the quest’s title, section, subject, grade, or duration. 

2. Standards- While editing the Quest Overview, you can toggle to Standards to remove standards that are already linked to the quest, or add new standards by typing the standard name or any word that appears in the standard description.

3. Quest Basic Information- Edit the essential question, description and more for the quest by clicking “Basic Information” on the left and then typing into the corresponding text boxes on the right. 

4. Activity Content- Edit an activity title, goal, description and more. Open the activity by clicking on the tile for the activity on the left. The information for that activity will open on the right. Type into the corresponding text box on the right to edit activity content.

5. Activity Resources- Add an activity resource by clicking “Add Resource” above existing resources. When adding a resource, specify the type and add a link or upload a file. You can remove a resource by clicking the garbage can icon inside an existing resource.

6. Add or remove an Artifact- Add an artifact by clicking “Add Artifact” in an activity that does not have an existing artifact.  Select the type from the drop down and add a description. You can remove an artifact by clicking the garbage can icon inside an existing artifact.

7. Add an Activity- Add your own activity by clicking “New Activity” at the bottom of the activity tiles on the left.

8. Reorder an Activity- Reorder activities by dragging and dropping the activity tiles on the left. Hover over the activity tile and drag the far left blue tab of the tile to move it. 
9. Remove an Activity- Remove an activity by hovering over an activity tile and clicking the trash can on the far right.
