Planning with Quests and Collections
How can you create daily lesson plans with Quest Forward?
Ready to use quests with your students? You can use quests to plan for a single class period, or to plan for multiple class periods.
This Quest Forward Daily Lesson Plan Template and Examples resource provides a lesson plan essentials checklist, a lesson plan template, and strategies to incorporate active learning and the feedback cycle into your use of quests with students. You’ll be planning for the following:
- Opener (warm-up or bell ringer, etc.)
- Plan for sharing learning and skill goals with students
- Teacher activities: modeling or think aloud; guided practice or mini lesson
- Student activities: large or small group cooperative learning, individual, self-paced work, active learning strategies, student choice
- Assessment/evidence of learning (formative and summative)
- Opportunities for feedback (self-assessment and peer review, and/or teacher feedback)
- Closing (exit ticket, etc.)
- Any other established, consistent daily routines
Subject specific daily lesson plan examples using quests from the OE curriculum are linked in the resource, as well as below.
Note: Be sure to review the duration estimate for any quests you choose as you dive into daily lesson planning
